Why tame kirix

Good luck to all :. Comment by No, that would be way to over powered lol, I just tamed him and can comfirm it. Comment by malaron Easy tame, you don't need to stand on a floating rock to get him I always miss instead you can stand on the edge of the other island, and he's in range to hit.. Jump to the other island using the thermal to the right of the floating platforms, which gets you the thermal buff, shoot him once, and when he does his poison attack, pop deterrence and tame. Comment by Please Help!

I just tried to tame Kirix multiple times. My tame beast cast would complete with out interruption and at the end he would evade it! Can anyone please tell me what i'm doing wrong? Good luck. Comment by Another hunter on my server got him, but soon after the tameable version of cinderweb brooder was up. This is a spider I should say, has drank energy drinks.

Another hunter tamed him. Good luck hunters! Comment by Jeremybell Its very strange, and maybe a bug, but i am happy i tamed Kirix the most easiest way to imagine. My NPCscan went off 3 times. I ran to the fire, then corpserun not yet the buff and went to the place.

Somehow, he dispelled me. I clicked again, and after 2 seconds! I am happy, but i dont think it was the proper way. EDIT: spoiler i had mark of the wild on, and no energy potions or whatever. Just normal, and not fully BM specced. Just enough points for the last talent.

Comment by Detin Ok, but how to kill him? PS: There are 10 rare spawns that came in , in patch 4. And when Kirix got close enough I tagged him with a Arcane shot, waited until he started casting his stun, popped Deterrence, tame Keep in mind he will be evading until he starts casting the spell, this is okay.

As you will still be able to tame him. It took me 2 times but I was able to get it. Hope it helps. Also, I believe he is on a short spawn timer, because I saw him this morning when an alliance tamed him. Tonight roughly am Server time I saw him again, this was when I tamed him. Comment by Can there be a race-dependent Line of Sight issue with the rock method? Me and another Orc hunter had between us about 30 failed attempts from the rock this morning. The Tame Beast spell would complete casting, but rather than having a new pet at the end, Kirix evaded.

In the end I tamed him on the ground using the disengage-method. This afternoon I see a Tauren just jump on the rock and taming Kirix on the first try. I was about to tell him I did not think that method worked anymore, then he whispers me back that was his 4th tame and he never had any problems from the rock. Also, the Tauren told me there is no particular spot on the rock he needs to stand on, and he has also tamed from different rocks.

Had Nature resist on. I tried Conc shot at first but it didn't do anything to help. Scatter Shot didn't work either to break his cast. Anyhow, got it done. Comment by Some Ally on Frostmane EU decided to kill this thing at PM, for the epic LEWTS it might drop, even though us hunters spammed the general chat that he will drop no loot other than the 25g and is only for hunters to tame Comment by Just tamed Kirix.

Ancient Hysteria 2. Dismiss Pet 3. Spammed tame to get his attention once he was in range he runs non-stop back and forth and can go out of taming range if you're not fast enough 4. Deterrence 5. Tame He never used a single attack against me. Kirix just stood there staring at me like an idiot the whole time I was taming him.

Wish I could say this was a "Challenge", but it really wasn't using that method. Comment by Tamed at pm on Akama server. I am BM spec. I used the lone rock technique and made a deterrence and tame beast macro. I fond that the macro gave me that 1 extra sec needed before he cast his stun again. I tried doing it manually one attempt and his stun hit me right as the tame was supposed to finish which canceled it and killed me. Waited for Kirix to come into tame range of the rock remember your shots are 40y but tame beast is only 30y and hit him with SS.

Waited a little again with my dot ticking and hit my macro as soon as he started to cast his stun. Tame was successful and all the jealous horde hunters made a point of killing me on Fireplume Peak. I tend to get overly excited and can't make a pet buff me, dismiss it, and start taming something else without freaking out or screwing something up in the process. My hunter is helping the Shadow Wardens so if I fell, I usually had to start over the Druids will catch you and carry you onto Fireplume if you fall off.

Just pray while you are hopping on those rocks that no one else will figure out what you are doing and beat you to the spot! If you hit him from that rock he will evade and only look at you. While I was taming, people were trying to aggro him away and I could see that their shots were whizzing past him.

Comment by Centaurian Ice trap will slow him dow and give you more time to tame. To bad there is no special buff like the embrace of the green shale spider. Comment by I just got him on Dawnbringer server. Does not require good gear or haste stacking, just be sure to start that tame cast the second you hit Deterrence.

Wait at all and you'll probably die; every second counts. Comment by Sacrelicious While out with guildies attempting to help tame Kirix, though we were unsuccessful, we did have Skarr spawn immediately after someone else tamed Kirix. It was within 30 seconds of Kirix being tamed that Skarr spawned right in front of us. Just let him charge, disengage in the air, pop deterrence and tame beast asap.

Managed with hp left. Comment by Another way to tame him easily: 1. Stand on the Air Vent on the ledge, just to the left of that infamous "floating rock", by Fireplume Peak. Not the Air Vent on the floating rock, the one on the ledge. Kill the annoying Elemental Mobs there so they don't aggro during the tame 2.

You'll know you're close enough on the ledge when Kirx runs by and you have him targeted - you'll see the White Dot on your Tame button letting you know you're in range. Once in position, wait for him to come around the ledge from the flame area, toward you. Dismiss or Abandon your Core Hound if you're doing this solo, right after you pop Ancient Hysteria - you'll have plenty of time. That combined with the Air Vent Haste will give you fast taming speed. Spam tame to get Kirix's attention as he's running along the ledge he'll only be in range for like 1 second, so spam tame to get his attention.

He should stop and just stare at you for a couple seconds while you tame. Let the tame continue until he starts charging the nasty "Megatoxin" DoT. Once he starts charging up Megatoxin, Hit Deterrence and immediately start taming again. He should be yours in a couple seconds now : No need to jump on the stupid rock to get the evade bug anymore. Comment by ok i just tryed 20 times to tame this darn spider, on both of the floating rocks and neither work, with or without haste with or without heroism.

Comment by bluebrick So i saw this Silver framed spider and thought "hellz yea phat loots from this rare, murder time! I'm full of confidense in my gear and ability and know that I'm gonna down this mob. All in one macro it seemed. I had to wait till he patted away before I recovered my corpse.

This dude is serious business. Comment by aloroth The ledge trick worked great. And Thanks. Comment by I read every comment and tried and tried but just couldnt get him For those of you who are sick of dying or your tame being pinched by another hunter here's what worked for me. Clear the elemental mobs near the Thermal vent. On the right side of the Thermal, there's a slope you can walk up and right on the edge is close enough to tame Kirix. Watch the spider's path and your Tame Beast icon - there's a very small window of opportunity.

Plan where you're going to place an Ice trap. Go back to the island point where the floating rocks are. Jump from rock to rock, going right to get the haste buff. Jump over to the island and go to the island's edge on the right side of the Thermal vent - dont jump. Place the Ice trap where you figured from step 1. You get aggro from the trap, so spam tame beast and anticipate that poison cast. I never have seen a cast bar for it. If he's stationary and out of taming range, back away and FD then back to step 2 cos the haste buff is going to run out.

Backing away from the edge puts you out of range and line of sight, so Kirix doesnt kill you. You still have aggro, so have to FD. If the haste buff is getting low, back away, FD and go get the buff again.

May have to clear elementals again too. Good Luck. Comment by Traziz Easiest way to tame this, is to go up the platforms to the top from the quest givers, and take the hot air ride towards the middle tier of the mountain, then fall down so you get the buff to jump around. Go towards a rock on the edge of cliff facing a solitary floating platform, stand facing it in the middle of the rock formation and press space you will land on it.

When Kirix comes along, use normal tame, when he starts to cast his main attack, stop the tame and use deterrence followed by a second tame, the deterrence will block his main dot attack and you will tame him.

Very close call though! Third rare spawn today :D Karkin, Deth'tilac now Kirix. One happy hunter! Pull him, arcane shot or whatever 2. When he knocks you back, disengage! Concussive Shot 4. Detterence 5. Tame Beast! Comment by Pensri Just tamed Kirix this morning at Nesingwary server. I stood at the edge of Fireplume Peak where the air vent is. Waited for Kirix to walk by, hit him with arcane shot and right when when he cast his spell of death, I deterrenced and tamed away.

Comment by Miroze Just helped my fiance tame this beast. Amazingly hard. Took us a good 45 minutes to figure it out watching a few other less tenacious hunters die in the process. You've got to be on the floating rocks out to the side, otherwise, you get no heals from his aura. He resets once the hunter dies if you're standing out on the rock, leaving the priest alive to rez you to try, try again. But fun fun fun!

Damn them! Comment by deemer Just tamed him an hour ago, felt like adding my experience. In short: got on the lonely floating rock, with the vent speed buff, hit tame, and tamed Kirix while evading, without even a deterrence. After I tried it solo tame a couple of times, and meanwhile reached a good 2 minutes rez timer I found the "standing on the floating rock" tactic the best.

Luckily, no other hunter tried it that way, so again, knowledge is power guard it well. To be exact, I hopped on the edge of the Fireplume Ridge - there is a thermal vent there. Taking that buff, I sidestepped towards west, where a lonely floating rock was. I found the farthest place from the vent where the jumping buff still applies.

Then jump without any other keys pressed , and in the air I managed to turn well and landed on a rock. Must be alive, without that it's no fun anyways and having not done the chain yet : When Kirix came around, shot him once, which got him evade near the platform.

He didn't do anything for like 8 seconds. Casted tame beast, the bastard still didn't react - thought I'd bait him to do the omgwtfaoe, but he didn't. Around half way the cast, he started But suddenly, the tame went off. I guess it must be the wind buff, or whatnot. No deterrence used, or any kind of traps. Bottom line: he killed more hunters then I could count. I bet the ork hunter who was waiting for his pala buddy still sits there :P. Wen he come running back at range you 1st fire concussive shot and walk back untill he lift you up with hes charge.

Mage time warp or shamn hero would also help speed up youre tame. Comment by izaul Ninjapirate is a freaking genius; that strat works perfectly, I even was knocked back to the druid npcs and one died on my behalf xd.

Comment by If you don't want to deal with the hastle of taming him or wait for him to spawn, just go to the spider area and tame one of the Cinderweb Broodlings.

Granted may not be as much of a challenge, but they are tamable as I did that on my hunter just a few minutes ago, and after taming Kirix a few weeks ago. Much easier. But if you do want a challenge, then feel free to wait for Kirix. Comment by Just stand on the last rock when you jump on em. Comment by Roland Shot it. Spammed some buttons.

Hit deterrence then tame beast. Comment by Unknownrose Tell you honestly. Didnt think ill tame him. Earlier this afternoon i saw him spawn.

I came here times to find diffrentspots to tame him at. Least to say I failed at them all and took a hour of wiping. I had the tame times with the bar going off when the tame was finished never got it cause it didnt register after the bar had finished. As i was about to try again. Another hunter had came and tamed it.

Please know before he came to tame it he already had the pet out. He dismissed that pet and tamed the same one again. Saying congratzy,he proceeded to tell em "I only came to tame it for you failures to see what it looks like" I lost my edge and went off on him and proceeded to call him a ignorant person for being a jerk and showing off when others like me and 2friends who was also there trying to tame it could've gotten it..

But i gave up A few hour's later I came back to see if Skarr was up being the only other pet I needed. I saw kirix up. I was so excited and screamed with glee as I went up the rocks.

I tamed it right when the same hunter from earlier appeared. Needless to say I was happy. XP Now time for skarr tame Comment by zsasha Just tamed this spider Frostmane EU good luck all, he cost me g in repair bills yesterday and no tame I required a visual demonstration after g in repair bills on failed attempts. Getting up on the rock with the thermal vent, standing there, popped my corehound and its buff, put it away, hit tame when he was in range and I had me a green spider.

I don't know why I couldn't get that from all the previous notes but seeing the visual clicked so figured I'd post it up for everyone. Here is how i did it: 1.

Mount up and jump there it's a bit tricky 4,since u landed there call Core Hound and observe Kirix's movement 5. Now most important Launch Fire or Snake Trap while hes still away -when he traps Cast Hysteria -dismiss pet and w8 for his poison cast 6. Comment by Iverach Did it as Survival with some pretty crappy gear. Aspect of the Wild up. Shot him to get his attention. Disengaged on the charge to get some distance. Popped a potion and Lifeblood. Popped deterrence on Megatoxin.

Hit tame. Got shot by a night elf. Comment by somnomania Just tamed him at am am server time , Thorium Brotherhood server, after trying for at least half an hour and dying numerous times. I'm not sure how it happened; the knockback didn't do any damage this time, and the deterrence didn't block the poison, as it hadn't the previous four times, but the macro and the haste buff gave me the speed to get him tamed before the poison killed me, I guess.

I wasn't too fond of the lava spiders when they were released, but this guy's pretty cool. Comment by tamed this beast last night on llane at approx 11pm server time.

This tame was more than a challenge - it was an epic battle to the end! Below are a few things that ended up working well for me; not in any particular order You are going to die Comment by Amberlynn Just tamed this pet right now on Khaz'goroth around am server time. Coming here and reading the comments helped a lot once I scrolled through them far enough to find something that would actually work I don't know how many times I died trying, but it was a lot, not just from falling off the rocks but from not getting my timing right and getting killed before the tame completed.

I kept forgetting to put up Aspect of the Wild I wouldn't forget it if I were you, especially if you have competition I had pretty much none since it was off hours.

I DID have a corehound with me No corehound? Don't forget Wild. I also highly recommend what others have said To help me with the timing, I set these on my hot bar as '1' Disengage , '2' Deterrence , and '3' Tame Beast. When the tame completed I was really close to dead. RECAP - 1. Aspect of the Wild 1a. Corehound if you have one, Ancient Hysteria, dismiss 2. Pull 3. Disengage in air 4. Deterrence on landing 5. Tame Beast 6. Comment by Drutar I'm just sitting on the Garrosh server, watching people jump off the thermal jump thing and landing right on top of Kirix and getting destroyed by him.

Comment by Tamed him on Shadowsong at pm. He had been up and running around for a good hour and a half before I got him. I died the first 7 times I tried to tame him- he evaded after the tame had finished, and that really sucked.

So I left and did some other things for a while. Around my mage buddy said that no one had tamed him yet. So I came back, and got him first try with a new method! It works no matter what spec you are, so go wild! A moment before he would have struck and killed me, the tame suddenly finished, even though the channel bar wasn't to the end yet. The method is this: 1. Jump the rocks up to the vent, and use the vent to jump to the island. Clear everything on the ledge.

Then go to the right of the vent back to the Furnace, and you should see a small ledge. You should now be in range of tame beast for a few seconds of his run. Have a mage buddy cast Time Warp. Wait until he starts his cast of Magmatoxin, and pop Deterrence as quickly as you can, before the spell goes off. Hit tame beast as quickly as possible. The cast should finish a few milliseconds before his next Magmatoxin goes off. I was told that you should be on level ground when trying to tame.

Regardless, my above method works like a charm, even if you are on a slanted ledge. Comment by Tamed this guy yesterday, on Lightbringer EU around 12pm.

Wasn't looking for him, was just doing my dailies. Just wanted to give my times incase any other hunter on my server is looking for him. Comment by Just tamed him at am eastern time. I did have a bit of a struggle with him becuz i kept dying.

However when I use Ancient Hysteria, I was one millisecond from taming him, but his poison got to me first. After that i got em by standing on one of those rocks so he couldn't attack me. Good luck to others and happy hunting! Comment by Another method Comment by Ungata I have caught this guy a couple of times. He is really easy. First make sure that your not in front of a wall, cuz he will kill you if you are. Next let him get to the very edge of your range.

Cast concussive shot to slow him down note if you do this he doesn't seem to cast the Magmatoxin. When he gets close he will throw you into the air, cast desengage at the top of the fall. When you hit the ground cast detterence and tame beast note he will start casting Magmatoxin as you fall thus detterence no damage and you still are taming him! After about 8 to 10 sec in which time he should be powering up a second Magmatoxin you will complete your tame and have your pretty new pal.

Important note have the aspect of nature on or you will die fast! Edit: I used this method and never had to use haste buffs. Addationally tamed in the off hours when no one was there. Trying to get a hunter in off hours is like trying to find a needle in a hay stack. It just doesn't happen. Each time I have tamed him no one was in the Molten Front. Server is Kul Tirs. Time is around am. Comment by easiest tame with a "challenge" ive ever done lol popped anciant hysteria and a haste pot haste rateing on gear caught him just on time GL :.

Comment by Milune This tame does not require haste, nor standing on rocks to evade bug him which can be considered an exploit by GM reports. I know others have said it, but these steps made him my easiest tame so far: 1. Cast Aspect of the Wild. Concussive Shot him at max distance.

Get him to hit you into the air, cast Disengage at the height of the pop up. Cast Deterrence and Tame Beast. Name your new pet. I saw three other hunters trying the rock tames and kept crying and yelling that Kirix was broken and that they had tried and died a lot to this tame and that it was impossible, etc.

I got it after one death, since I was a noobcake and didn't have Aspect of the Wild up nor hit Deterrence. He never once evaded, instant killed me, or any of the other things that happen when people try to tame on the rocks. I just really don't suggest it. Comment by Just tamed him on Dalvynger. Had quite a hard time of it and died way more than I'd like to admit. I tried everything mentioned in the comments and failed until I figured out that the correct rock at this point is the lone rock just off the ledge by the lava pool.

If you do not have a corehound bring some haste pots and pop them just before you pull Kirix. The timing on this is the key. If your timing is off you will die. If you nail it Kirix should go green just after your tame completes -- with microseconds to spare.

In my case he actually looked like he was about to cast his poison attack again and then suddenly stopped and went green. By the way, if you miss the tame and you are able to FD before he starts casting his poison attack you'll be able to just wait for his next patrol.

Comment by Got kirix on Wildhammer - at pm server Inc long post The tame was a whole compliated procedure. I go up to the rock which i knew very well how to get to. Poison cast kills me. Tried it again and realized i needed to be faster and didnt have my core hound pet with me. He comes over and pops lust i pop berserking and still get killed by the poison bolt attack.

This was a mistake.. When i finally tamed it, it was pure luck. Popped bloodlust and Berserking again and Start the tame. The rest of the Tame bar just got like completely ignored and Kirix was mine. In short : I went through tooo much trouble trying to tame Kirix 8 deaths - 2 rez sicknesses and 2 full repairs later and Kirix was mine though.

Well I had someone with a 2 seat mount like a bike bring me up to a vertical rock where I summoned my CH and cast his buff, then dismissed him, then tamed. It requires cooperation from both ends :D but its so worth it! Comment by I just tamed this spider on Aggramar at midnight. I didn't use any pots or use my core hound with hysteria. I wanted to tame him the 'hard' way XD. When I was using the rock method I did have Aspect of the Wild on. I am a MM hunter so the only tool I used was the macro for the deterrence and tame.

But when it came down to it I had to learn to do it earlier in order to get it right. I didn't believe them and I relied no I do not have it. To my disbelief I had finished the tame somehow before I died and he was my in my last slot. So if you are using the rock method like I did remember that practice is perfect.

So this spider respond again while I was doing dailies. There wasnt any other hunters around atm trying to tame him so I decided to retame him without using the rock method. I was able to tame him again by silencing him at the peak of my disengage. Gl all. Comment by kirix is so easy that i am shocked it took so long for me to get him here is how to do it Stand on the lone rock near the corner he comes round on, concussion shot him as he comes bk by u then wait As soon as u see the casting bar for his Spell hit Deterrance and start taming right away, you should get him before he casts again.

Comment by Just tamed him, yay. All I did was: 1. Put a few stamina buffs on me food, runescroll of fortitude II, scroll of stamina IX. This put me up to k health. Went into Aspect of the Wild. Shot him at farthest distance I could and started moving away from him while he ran towards me.

After a couple seconds he'll send you flying into the air a little bit. Used disengage while in midair. Landed on ground popped deterrence and immediately cast tame beast. He closed into melee range when I was about halfway through my tame so I just had to hope it finished before he could tear through my k health.

Comment by pat Just tamed him Comment by Meggle Delism's one little tidbit helped me a lot. I pulled, as i was in the air, hit Disengage, landed and popped Detterence, easily caught. I had a mage with with for Temporal Displacement, highly recommended for a quick an easy catch. Thanks for the help if anyone of you guys are reading this. This can be done either with or without Ancient Hysteria. It seems to have a very small aggro range, and worst case, FD.

Around the north side north of quest givers, sorry, don't have coords Opposite that, inland direction, is a much larger formation. I then ran back around the corner and waited for him in an an area I felt would be a good spot for taming. The reason I picked this spot in his patrol area is because I knew I needed a clear path behind me, where I could gain some distance during Disengage.

More on this in a bit…. Bouncing Charge interrupts spell casting and knocks you up into the air. Once he rounded the corner in my direction and started getting close — and by the way… he moves very fast — I hit him with an Arcane Shot to aggro him.

He immediately hit me with his Bouncing Charge attack — punting me through the air. Just as I was starting to descend back towards the ground, I hit Disengage. As soon as I landed I hit Deterrence and started taming. The tame was going alright, but I was growing nervous as I saw my hit points being devoured as quickly as my Tame Beast was finishing. I was really bummed because I knew there was another hunter out there on the same mission, plus I was sooo close to pulling off a successful tame.

Someone had tamed him. After he passed by me a few times, I thought he seemed a bit confused, like he was maybe still looking for Kirix himself. At that moment, I thought, hmmm… it was down to the wire… maybe I did get him..?! Sure enough, I opened up my remote stable and there he was! It was that close. In other words, were I to try taming Kirix again, this is what I would do. Please note that this strategy requires you to be in a Beast Mastery spec ….

I was trying my best to tame him using so many strategies that I have seen others use just to have some jerk mage come up and kill him while I was trying to tame him… I will never understand why someone would kill a hunter pet just for laughs. So my journey continues in trying to tame him….

Well to be honest I used a freeze trap without core hound buff and no deterrence. It is literally that simple. Well, my timing sucked for this method. So this is what I did that worked pretty well. I started with a pet out.

Had the pet attack. While Kirix was aggrod on the pet and used his attack , I dismissed the pet before he died and started the tame. Unread post by Teigan » Sun Jul 31, am.
